BOOK OWNERS ONLINE

Launched in August 2020, the Book Owners Online was built as a collaborative project between Bibliographical Society and University College London, designed to be scalable flexible with aspiration expand both chronologically geographically. Initially containing data for around 1400 English seventeenth-century book owners, number of entries has grown more than 1800, covering Scottish well moving into 18th century. The platform is meant place start, not one end, providing overview information further sources reference. It does aspire list all books person owned; conform standard structure, several fields which will filled depending on nature evidence. They include name at least date birth or death, narrative field “Books” aiming summarise what we know about their library, source information. Like online databases this nature, reference support other works, it conceived being always work progress.
